These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the FeedForward Chrome Extension. By installing, accessing, or using our extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using FeedForward, you agree to comply with these terms as well as any applicable local, national, and international laws or regulations. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our service.

2. Service Description and Fair Use

FeedForward is an AI-powered grading assistant that securely integrates with Google Docs to provide writing feedback. Users are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the extension for educational or personal purposes. You agree not to misuse the service, reverse-engineer the API backend, or use it to generate illegal, harmful, or abusive content.

3. Payments, Subscriptions, and Billing (Stripe)

Our payment processing is seamlessly and securely handled by our billing provider, Stripe. By subscribing to FeedForward, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Billing Cycle: Subscriptions are billed automatically in advance on a monthly or annual basis. They will auto-renew automatically unless cancelled prior to the renewal date.
  • Cancellations: You may request cancellation of your subscription at any time. Cancellations will take effect strictly at the end of the current paid billing or subscription period.
  • Refunds: Due to the nature of real-time API processing costs, all subscription charges and top-up analysis credits are strictly final and non-refundable.
  • Currency & Overages: Prices are explicitly listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD). Foreign transaction and conversion fees applied by your bank for USD or other currencies are your sole responsibility.

4. Third-Party Services Integration

FeedForward relies on several powerful third-party services to function. By using FeedForward, you additionally agree to comply with the terms of these respective service providers:

  • OpenAI API: Our feedback is generated dynamically using OpenAI's API. You agree to comply strictly with OpenAI's Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy. Most importantly, you may not systematically scrape or use the generated output to develop machine learning models that compete directly with OpenAI.
  • Google Docs: Our extension interacts directly with Google Docs by inserting comments. Your use of this extension must not violate Google's General Terms of Service or their specific Developer API guidelines.
  • AWS (Amazon Web Services): Our secure backend infrastructure, which protects our internal API keys and manages usage quotas, is hosted on AWS. While we strive for maximum 99.9% uptime, we are not liable for any service outages caused by AWS infrastructure network disruptions.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

FeedForward is provided on an strictly "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. While we strive to provide highly accurate and helpful educational feedback utilizing the latest generative AI models, we make no explicit guarantees regarding the absolute accuracy, reliability, alignment, or correctness of the generated feedback. The ultimate responsibility for grading, fact-checking, and assessment remains entirely with the educator.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FeedForward, its founders, and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or academic disputes resulting directly or indirectly from your use of the extension or reliance on the generated AI feedback.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time without explicit prior warning. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the extension after changes are made constitutes your explicit acceptance of the revised Terms.
